The Princeton Academy of Martial Arts Philosophy
Princeton Academy of Martial Arts is committed to providing the highest quality martial arts instruction and training, in a friendly, positive atmosphere. Our staff of assistant instructors are highly trained and qualified to guide you through your training. At Princeton Academy of Martial Arts, people of all ages, with or without previous martial arts experience, can learn to defend themselves, get a great workout, have fun, and ultimately improve as individuals.
Our main goal is to provide top quality martial arts instruction and training. We are not oriented toward tournaments or taking tests for belts -- the only person you have to compete with at Princeton Academy of Martial Arts is yourself. However, if you like the idea of competing, you can train for that goal. Princeton Academy of Martial Arts has trained many students who have competed in a variety of competitions, including full-contact stick fighting, full-contact Muay Thai, full-contact kickboxing and full-contact shootwrestling. Princeton Academy of Martial Arts has produced champions in all these areas.
We offer separate classes for adults and children, and we teach specific course material for specific age groups. This way everyone gets the most benefit from the instruction. We believe that the goal of martial arts is ultimately to develop the individual to a higher level. To this end, we encourage you to try as many of the arts as you would like, or you may specialize in one or two that particularly appeal to you.
At Princeton Academy of Martial Arts, we encourage students to appreciate the martial arts of many cultures and to see the valuable aspects of every one. Rather than limiting yourself to a single style of martial arts, which would hinder your complete development, we believe that you should have the ability and freedom to express your own unique personality through the martial arts, without prejudice or blind adherence to any particular style. To develop along the path that is most suited to you, as an individual, your martial arts learning experience should be guided by a qualified instructor who encourages you to explore and continue developing along your own path. Princeton Academy of Martial Arts provides the opportunity and environment to challenge yourself and start on the path to your own self-development.
